CELTICS CHAMPS!

I am not going to lie, I grew up a Laker fan so it was a bit weird to me cheering for the Celtics against the Lakers in the final. But Kobe Bryant's presence makes it much easier. When the Shaq and Kobe feud lead to Kazaam being traded to Miami, I jumped ship with Shaq and rooted for the Heat. However I have always been a big KG and Ray Allen fan so it was easy to adpot the Celtics as my new favorite team at the beginning of the year. I don't claim to be a die hard like I am with OU and the Dodgers, but I really loved watching this team play.

This was a great season for NBA basketball. The Western Conference was stacked and as tough as ever but the Celtics were a defensive team like nothing anyone in that conference were prepared to handle. The Boston 3 Party  along with great role players like Rondo, Posey, Perkins, Powe and others have a great club that were absolutely DETERMINED to win the championship this season.

It was a joy to watch them punk Kobe and his newly beloved teammates, yeah the same ones he threw under the bus last summer. Take a look in the mirror Kobe. You are not MJ and you never will be. You won 3 championships as Shaq's side kick, you are tremendously talented but you better figure something out or you are NEVER going to win a championship without Shaq. The Celtics have some good years left. It is unlikely they will be able to have a regular season like they did this year, but I am sure they will be ready to roll come playoff time again next year if they are healthy. Hopefully they can find the same passion in the clutch again next year.

There are a lot of good young players and good young teams in the NBA. However with Andruw Bynum back next year for the Lakers we could very well get a rematch next year but I am sure Chris Paul, LeBron James and other young NBA studs will have their say.
